“Excellent weekend” for Porsche Carrera Cup GB

April 29th, 2009

Porsche Carrera Cup GB enjoyed an "excellent weekend" at Thruxton between April 25th and 26th, the marque has announced.

Race wins for Michael Caine and Tom Harvey helped the manufacturer, while the fact that Brands Hatch winner Tim Bridgman was unable to repeat his previous performance means just five points now separate the Provisional Drivers’ Championship top three.

In round three, Harvey claimed his first victory of the season, staying clear of Caine to take the chequered flag in a race that saw Bridgman come in third.

Commenting on how quickly he was able to push clear of his co-racers, he said: "The start was the key. I got a mega start and then pushed very hard in the few laps."

Meanwhile, Caine took first place in round four, while Harvey and Bridgman "battled mightily" for second.

After the conclusion of the weekend, Bridgman is ranked as number one with 76 points, followed by Harvey with 75 and Cain comes in third with 71.

Earlier this month, Porsche unveiled its Panamera to the world at the 13th Shanghai Auto Show in China.ADNFCR-2370-ID-19145816-ADNFCR
