Ford Capri celebrates 40th anniversary
The Ford Capri is "refusing to grow old gracefully", as it celebrates its 40th anniversary, its manufacturer has noted.
According to the marque, while production of the motor ended in 1986, the model lives on in a variety of ways.
These include owners’ clubs, many of which will be marking the anniversary with events over the coming weeks and months.
Among them are Grampian Transport Museum’s showcase on August 30th, a gathering at Ace Cafe in London on September 5th and a symposium at Brooklands Museum in Surrey on September 26th.
"While the Capri is not the biggest seller in Ford history, it is evident from the devoted fan base that it is certainly one of the most fondly remembered," Ford asserted.
In other news, Ford recently announced its Fiesta Van ECOnetic goes on sale in Britain later in 2009.
The vehicle features lowered suspension, low rolling resistance tyres and a specially-calibrated engine.
