Toyota Land Cruiser achieves emission reduction
Toyota has announced a "significant" reduction in the exhaust emissions from its Land Cruiser vehicle.
As such, the motor’s tax liability has been reduced and its cost of ownership profile has been strengthened, the manufacturer said.
By adopting a new low viscosity differential oil, the CO2 figure for the 3.0-litre D-4D automatic has been lowered from 238 g/km to 224 g/km. This has been ratified by a retest of the vehicle by officials at the Vehicle Certification Agency.
"As a result, Land Cruiser moves from Band L to Band K for vehicle excise duty, almost halving the annual road tax cost," Toyota said, noting that it now stands at £215 instead of the previous figure of £405.
Due to the £190 reduction in costs, a range of price decreases have also been implemented to pass savings onto customers, the manufacturer noted.
Toyota is showing off a range of its vehicles – including the new Verso – at the Barcelona International Motor Show, which is taking place in the Spanish city.
