Alfa Romeo posts “buoyant” sales results
Alfa Romeo has bucked the trend for falling new car sales by posting buoyant results for the last two successive months.
In news likely to be of interest to car bulbs customers, the Italian car manufacturer is also one of only two makers to be credited with increased year-to-date sales figures in comparison to 2008 by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders.
Data from the organisation shows that Alfa Romeo recorded a positive percentage change in its new car sales during March and April.
This included a 76.8 per cent increase in the latter, a total of 55 per cent higher than any other motor manufacturer for the 30-day period.
"Alfa Romeo in 2009 has been boosted by the introduction of the sporty, compact Alfa MiTo which has extended the manufacturer’s appeal into a new market segment," the marque comments.
The company is currently showing off its MiTo GTA and 8C Spider, as well as a number of other models, at the Barcelona International Motor Show.
