Golf GTI and new Polo are the ‘stuff of automotive dreams’
Volkswagen described its new Golf GTI and Polo as "prime examples of affordable automotive dreams" as it showcased two concept cars at its annual fan club meeting,
Fans of the models meet annually at Worthersee in Austria and, at this year’s meeting, they were treated to the sight of the Golf GTI and Polo Wörthersee 09 versions.
The former came equipped with smoked LED car bulbs on the rear tailgate, high-end aluminium tread plates and brushed aluminum trim, offsetting the ‘firespark metallic’ red exterior.
In flash red, the latter also boasted a number of startling aesthetic features, such as the dark contrast of the radiator grille, mirror caps, buckle and backdrop of the car bulbs.
The models’ manufacturer commented: "The Golf GTI and the new Polo are Volkswagen highlights this spring. Both are launching right now, and both are successors to absolute bestsellers."
To promote tomorrow’s launch of the new Golf GTI, Volkswagen set up a Scalextric track that allowed internet users to test drive the vehicle virtually.
