National Oil Check Week launches tour
As most drivers know, as well as checking car lights, wiper blades and tyres regularly, having enough oil in is an absolute must.
To hammer the message home, car specialist Comma has launched a UK roadshow to mark National Oil Check Week, with the four-day tour taking place from June 15th to 19th.
"Motorists are risking up to £300 million a year in repairs on engines that have seized up because the oil level is too low, with over five million admitting they never check their oil, despite the potentially expensive consequences," the company noted.
Those attending the events will be offered basic car maintenance advice, as well as free oil checks and top-ups.
Venues include Edinburgh’s Gale Shopping Centre, the Trafford Centre in Manchester and Bluewater in Kent.
In other maintenance news, motorists were recently urged to increase their tyre pressure when carrying heavy loads this summer.
Chris Hufflett of tyre distributor ATS Euromaster said it may only seem like a five-minute job, but many drivers do not bother doing this.
