Car headlight bulbs betray Ashes to Ashes’ Audi
Fans of the popular BBC 1 show Ashes to Ashes have spotted a mistake concerning DCI Gene Hunt’s motor – and the car headlight bulbs are a giveaway.
Set in 1982, the time-travelling show has helped revive interest in the classic Audi Quattro. However, car fans have highlighted that the model featured in the series was not actually available until 1983, reports Click Liverpool.
Steve Bullock, Audi Club chairman, explained that the car headlight bulbs are the main giveaway to any car buffs.
"It might not seem like a big deal, but to the trained eye it is a glaring, schoolboy error," said Mr Bullock.
"Especially as the car is one of the stars of the show – you think the producers would have put more thought and research into it."
The Monday television show regularly attracts nine million viewers and led to the development of the popular catchphrase "fire up the Quattro".
Last month, Audi announced plans to introduce a new rear sports axle on its Saloon and Avant models.
