Car sharing couple ‘find romance’
A motorist in West Midlands has found love after signing up to Warwickshire council’s car sharing scheme.
Laura Vesty, who lives in Coventry, has been car sharing for four years to help cut the environmental and financial cost of her daily commute to the local authority offices.
However, things changed six months ago when engineer Simon Gordon contacted her after his regular car share partner went on holiday.
"I jokingly said I was going out with friends and he might like to come too so he could drive us back as I would like to have a drink. He came out with us and we decided we would like to see each other," she explained.
Not only does car sharing save on petrol money, it also makes journeys seem a lot quickly, Ms Vesty added.
The council promotes the scheme by promising a car parking space to those who share transport.
According to Liftshare.com, a site which encourages the practise, car sharing helps to reduce stress and improve employment prospects.
