Jaguar XJ ‘Britain’s greenest luxury car’
The Jaguar XJ diesel has been named as Britain’s greenest luxury car by the Environmental Transport Association’s (ETA) 2009 Car Buyers’ Guide.
It is the third time the XJ has scooped the award, beating off competition from 1,300 vehicles.
Geoff Cousins, managing director of Jaguar UK, said this latest acknowledgement proves the company is going in the right direction where the environment is concerned.
"We fully recognise our responsibility to the environment and are committed to playing our role in developing technology solutions for our cars to address climate change," he added.
Andrew Davis, director of the ETA, said the model consistently outperforms its rivals.
Car bulb customers may be interested to learn that the all-new XJ goes on sale in July.
In related news, the Volvo S40 DRIVe was named as the green car of the year at the What Car? Green awards held earlier this month.
