Renault Traffic scoops security award
Renault’s Traffic van has scooped a prize at the 2009 British Insurance Vehicle Security Awards.
The best-selling vehicle led the way in the heavy van category, with vehicles judged on their security features and ability to prevent break-ins and theft.
According to Renault, the Traffic boasts a range of impressive security features, including anti-drill door locks and barrels, a Thatcham category 1 alarm and immobiliser system, remote central locking with deadlocking, full steel bulkheads and R.A.I.D. (Renault Anti-Intruder Device).
Three-button keys are also available, meaning that drivers can choose to open individual doors in order to prevent opportunistic thieves entering the vehicle while it is being unlocked.
The Traffic was awarded a maximum of five stars in the ‘theft of’ section and four in the ‘theft from’ category.
Other vans in the Renault range include the Kangoo and Master Panel Van, as well as the Traffic Crew Van.

I think these awards are great as they give car manufacturers a reason to strive for better safety, which has the knock on effect of better safety all around.
This van is worth the award. Its security features are great. thanks for sharing
