Caravanning holidays ‘increasing in popularity’
An increasing number of Brits are opting to take caravanning holidays, it has been claimed.
According to the Caravan Club, bookings at some sites are up by as much as 40 per cent, with people realising that they can "get more for their money" by holidaying in the UK.
Nikki Nichol, a spokesperson for the organisation, said Brits are "falling back in love" with their own country and exploring what is on their doorstep.
"Whether you want the city centre, seaside or countryside – with a motor home you can travel around as and when you want to – each day you can get a different view out of your window," she added.
People are also beginning to realise that caravans and motorhomes can be very luxurious vehicles, Ms Nichol furthered.
Figures published by the National Caravan Council earlier this year revealed that around 14 million holidays will be taken in motorhomes and touring caravans this year, leading the creation of approximately 1,000 new jobs around the UK.
