Demand for top cars ‘on the increase’
Demand for prestige cars is on the increase, new figures have revealed.
According to British Car Auctions (BCA), there has been strong bidding across June for performance cars and prestige motors.
As such, values for top-of-the-range cars have risen significantly.
A 2007 Bentley Continental GT 6.0 convertible recently sold for £92,500 – around 15 per cent above its recommended value, while Aston Martins and Audis are also achieving good prices.
Simon Henstock, BCA’s UK operations director, said the values for sporting and performance models dropped last year due to the economic downturn and end of city bonus culture.
"Interest has been building all year, however, and values have improved notably in recent weeks," he added.
Meanwhile, those purchasing car bulbs and wiper blades may be interested to learn that the cost of used soft top models has also risen in recent months.
Figures from BCA show that the cost of convertable vehicles tends to peak during the months of July and August.
