Ford car sales ‘increasing’
Sales of new Ford models have increased for the first time in 11 months, it has been revealed.
Figures released by the car manufacturer today show that sales of small models such as the Fiesta and Ka have returned to 2008 levels.
Ford’s overall share of the car market now stands at 16.9 per cent, representing a three per cent increase on last year.
Nigel Sharp, managing director of Ford of Britain, commented: "To beat a fiercely competitive market in the tough economic climate we’re in proves that customers see the new Ford vehicle range as an exciting opportunity not to be missed."
Models currently sold by the manufacturer include the Fusion, Focus C-Max and Mondeo.
Meanwhile, British Car Auctions revealed last week that silver was the most popular colour for used cars sold during the first three months of 2009.
Other popular colours include blue, black and red.
