Honda Accord 'is most reliable car'

The Honda Accord has been voted as the UK’s most reliable car in a recent poll by consumer group Which?

Drivers were asked to report the number of times their vehicles have broken down or experienced faults, with the Accord achieving a 99 per cent satisfaction rating.

The Honda Jazz was also found to be extremely dependable, as well as the Daihatsu Sirion, which took third place in the poll.

At the other end of the scale, the Audi A5 was voted as the least dependable car, with a 76 per cent rating.

According to Which?, electrical systems were identified as one of the biggest problem areas in the survey.

Commenting on the findings, Richard Headland, editor of Which? Car, said: "Owning a reliable car can make the difference between getting your summer holiday off to a flying start and sitting on the hard shoulder of the M6."

In related news, those purchasing new cars have been advised to stick to the terms and conditions of their warranty agreements.

Mondial Assistance claimed earlier this week that those repairing their own cars or failing to get regular services could invalidate their cover.

Thanks for the heads up, very interesting to read that the Honda Accord is the most reliable car. It certainly helps to ease the worry, in winter and during the morning commute, knowing that my car isn’t going to breakdown. Besides, I don’t think I could afford expensive mechanical bills at the moment, so I will certainly check this car out when I buy my next one. Does anyone know what they are like for gas consumption?
