Motorists urged to look after their cars

Drivers who replace worn wiper blades and car bulbs at the earliest opportunity may want to consider some other tips to help keep their autos in peak condition.
Europcar has offered people advice on how they can maximise their vehicle’s efficiency and make sure they are able to secure the best possible price for the motor when the time comes to sell it.
The company suggested washing autos regularly can help protect paintwork by removing potentially corrosive contaminates.
However, it warned motorists to avoid washing-up liquid as the high salt content can cause damage.
Drivers were also advised to check tyre pressure every week.
The firm explained that when properly inflated these car parts tend to last longer and they can help improve fuel economy.
Marketing director Catriona Lougher stated: "We hope some of our inventive solutions to keep cars in top condition this autumn will help drivers reduce unnecessary wear and tear on their own vehicles."
In other news, Europcar recently reported one of its customers brought back a hire vehicle that was a little worse for wear, after a lion at a safari park took a disliking to the auto.
