Presumably someone is confusing the Gordon Murray designed McLaren F1 sports car (produced from 1992 to 1998) with a McLaren Formula One racing car. The McLaren F1 sports car - a forerunner to the new MP4-12C - did indeed just have the one wiper blade. Formula 1 cars don’t have either a windscreen or a wiper blade.
