Top Gear cars go on display

People who are passionate about anything to do with autos from the windscreen wiper blades through to the bulbs in the headlights may want to check out some new additions to the World of Top Gear exhibition at Beaulieu.

From Saturday (September 19th), the display will include three extra vehicles.

The cars in question – a Toyota Hilux, a Fiat Coupe and a Triumph Herald – have all been seen on the television programme Top Gear.

Jeremy Clarkson tried to prove that the first of these models was not indestructible as claimed by the manufacturer – but failed.

The Fiat Coupe was seen in the programme’s police car challenge and the Triumph Herald was driven by James May when the show attempted to create amphibious autos.

Commercial director at the National Motor Museum Stephen Munn commented: "We are delighted to have these new exhibits from the Top Gear studio to include in the exhibition, especially the iconic Indestructible Hilux, a firm favourite with fans of the show."

Meanwhile, Beaulieu hosted the annual Autojumble last weekend.
