The car lights on a Toyota model being displayed at the Frankfurt International Motor Show give the auto a "look-at-me appearance", it has been claimed.

According to Toyota, its iQ for Sports design study demonstrates that eco-friendly vehicles can be stylish.

This version of the world’s smallest production car comes with aero headlamps equipped with high-intensity LED driving lights.

Commenting on the effect of the new features, Toyota said they help the model to turn heads.

Other accessories in the iQ for Sports styling pack include 18-inch alloys, a trapezoidal central exhaust and a rear roof spoiler.

Inside, the car features extra details such as illuminated trim panels and a swiveling spotlight on the dashboard.

Toyota claimed the design study shows "sub-100 g/km motoring doesn’t have to be dull".

Meanwhile, the manufacturer also unveiled its new Auris HSD Full Hybrid Concept at this year’s Frankfurt International Motor Show.

The group claimed the model represents a significant milestone in its plans to make all its mainstream European models available with this sort of green technology.
