Volvo target may impress safety-conscious drivers

Motorists who change worn windscreen wiper blades and car bulbs at the earliest opportunity to ensure their autos are as safe as possible may be impressed by a Volvo pledge.
The company has announced it intends to do all it can to prevent anyone travelling in its vehicles from being injured.
It stated that by 2020, it is hopeful its cars will be so safe not a single individual will be hurt as the result of an accident in a Volvo.
The manufacturer explained it is working on technology that will make it easier for drivers to avoid collisions, while also ensuring if there is a crash, the impact on occupants is minimal and the auto in question is able to automatically call for assistance.
Head of safety strategy Jan Ivarsson stated: "Our aim is to come so close to zero that one single car accident is defined as a disaster, not an acceptable part of our daily lives."
Meanwhile, the Volvo XC60 was recently named best in class at the Caravan Club Towcar of the Year awards.
