At the 2010 Caravan Club Towcar of the Year event, the model came top in the over-£32,000 category and the all-wheel drive class.

Driving judge Barry Williams said the auto was extremely impressive despite being up against some strong competition.

He stated: "The Land Rover Discovery 4 stood out among an astonishingly good selection of cars in the two classes it entered."

The model comes with Tow and Trailer Stability Assist, which are designed to keep cars pulling other objects vehicles safe.

Meanwhile, the Volkswagen Golf was the overall winner at the Caravan Club event.

    I have a Land Rover Discovery 4, wow what a car! Even better I know it would be ok to pull a caravan on the back. Wife and kids want to go camping next year.
