Drivers may want to swap car bulbs before clocks go back

With the clocks due to go back soon, drivers up and down the country may want to consider swapping their current car bulbs for products that offer the best possible visibility on dark nights, if the comment of one road safety group are anything to go by.
Gem Motoring Assist has claimed the fact that the government refuses to keep British Summer Time all year round in the UK makes highways and byways more dangerous during the winter.
It added a particular area of concern for motorists is being able to spot children walking home from school.
A survey by the organisation found 86 per cent of drivers worry about not seeing kids on dark evenings.
Chief executive David Williams called on the country’s leaders to help protect youngsters by sticking to British Summer Time all year round.
"We need days as bright as possible when children are walking home. This is a simple way to save life and injury and totally logical," he stated
However, as this is unlikely to happen in the near future, motorists may want to invest in car bulbs that offer higher levels of illumination that standard products.

Not only bulbs need to be checked but I think if you haven’t serviced your car for a long time, now is the time to do it. You don’t want your car to break down on you in the dark now, do you?
