Parents keen to hit the road with the kids over half term may want to ensure windscreen wiper blades and car lights are in tip-top condition first.
According to Europcar, the weather may not be ideal for day trips at this time of year but as long as mums and dads are properly prepared, getting out and about can still be fun.
Marketing director Catriona Lougher stated: "With the right clothing to brave the elements and some games up your sleeve to see through the worst downpours, a bit of wind and rain can actually be quite exhilarating."
Parents may also want to ensure their vehicles are as safe as possible by replacing items like worn windscreen wiper blades and car bulbs so they can be sure of the best view of the road, regardless of weather conditions.
In other news, Europcar recently revealed some of the more unusual excuses its staff have heard from customers bringing back damaged autos.
