Suzuki Grand Vitara mirror ‘prevents drivers being dazzled by car lights’

A new option on the Suzuki Grand Vitara has been designed to prevent drivers being dazzled by the car lights of vehicles approaching from behind.
The Rear Camera Display technology – which is available on three and five-door editions of the model – includes a rear view mirror with auto dimming to reduce the glare of headlamps.
In addition, the system also shows the area behind the car as soon as reverse gear is selected.
This image is projected onto the rear view mirror by a camera fitted above the number plate at the back of the auto.
Suzuki explained this allows people to keep an eye any obstacles behind the vehicle – such as children and pets – as they reverse.
The option is available for £459 – including fitting and VAT.
In other news, Suzuki is currently displaying a Swift with plug-in hybrid technology at the Tokyo Motor Show.
The event got underway on October 21st and will run until November 4th.
