National Motor Museum launches new website
For car enthusiasts interested in seeing how car bulbs have changed over the decades, the National Motor Museum’s new website may be just what they are looking for.
On October 22nd the museum in Beaulieu, Hampshire, launched its new interactive learning experience website, which was funded by the Designation Challenge Fund.
The website has been designed to appeal to all, from motoring enthusiasts to children, providing illustrated information and educational interactive games.
It showcases all the collections and provides enhanced access to facilities including the Motoring Research Service.
The day also a saw celebration of the museum’s recent successes and its unique collections of items related to the history of motoring in Great Britain.
Collections at the National Motor Museum include 100 metres of motoring archives that include over a million photos, more than 43,000 motoring objects and specialist motoring reference and film libraries.
The museum’s display of world famous cars and motorcycles, including an 1898 Daimler Cannstatt, which had a maximum speed of 16 miles per hour, was given designation status in 1997 by the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council and is visited by around 340,000 people each year.
