New book helps motorists to pick right Ford Capri
Written by Richard Sinclair.
Motorists looking to buy a classic Ford should first invest in Ford Capri – The Essential Buyer’s Guide, which advises on things to check before buying, such as light bulbs and wiper blades.
The guide takes the potential purchaser through a short initial examination to find obvious defects followed by a more comprehensive step-by-step look at the body and mechanical parts, where the clear, jargon-free text accompanied by over 100 photographs sheds light on the Capri’s construction.
A unique points marking system in the 64-page paperback ensures that nothing is overlooked and an accurate final picture of the car’s condition can be viewed in relation to the asking price.
Designing of the Ford Capri began in 1965 to create a vehicle with a similar feel to the Mustang but for the British market.
Some £20 million was allocated for the development budget with a view to releasing the car in the later half of 1968.
