Smarter Driving programme ‘reduces CO2 emissions’
Written by Tom Benjamin.
Smart motorists know that replacing their car bulbs as soon as they have gone out reduces the risk of accidents but driving efficiently to reduce CO2 emissions is important too so BMW and Mini have partnered with the Energy Saving Trust to provide a fleet of cars to support its Smarter Driving programme.
For £25 per person, organisations can put their employees through the Smarter Driving course, which teaches the skills needed to drive more efficiently.
By following advice from the Energy Saving Trust, delivered through DriveSense, this driving style can save on average up to £250 per person per year in fuel and slash an individual’s CO2 emissions.
Each of the BMW and Mini’s used contain a suite of EfficientDynamics technologies, including Auto Start-Stop, Brake Energy Regeneration and Optimum Shift Indicators as standard.
Dominic Marder, DriveSense managing director, said: "With an ever growing emphasis on green driving, DriveSense are delighted to have introduced BMW and Mini as a partner to this highly effective driving programme."
For companies looking to buy more environmentally-friendly used cars, a colour-coded Used Car Fuel Economy Label was today launched by Minister for Transport Sadiq Khan.
The label provides consumers with clear at-a-glance information on the running costs, fuel consumption and environmental performance of used cars available from participating dealers.
