Peugeot B11 electric vehicle comes to London
Written by Fiona Birkwood.
Those interested in the future of motoring can take a look at every detail of Peugeot’s new vehicle, from its car bulbs to its engine, this weekend in London’s Covent Garden.
The revolutionary vehicle of the future, the BB1, is a cross between a car and a scooter and is powered by two electric motors mounted in the rear wheels.
It has enough power from its lithium-ion battery packs to travel up to 75 miles between recharges.
Unlike many small electric cars, the BB1 can accommodate up to four adults due to its innovative layout.
The controls are more similar to those of a scooter than car and solar panels help power the vehicle’s onboard systems.
Peugeot’s BB1 will be on show in Covent Garden from 10:00 GMT until 19:00 GMT, on November 7th and 8th, enabling the general public to have a close up look into the future of urban mobility.
Twenty five Peugeot BB1 branded rickshaws will also be operating around central London to ferry interested individuals to the BB1 display, free of both cost and emissions.
Cars that produce zero emissions are not widely available but, according to government website Act on CO2, adjusting tyre pressures regularly and reducing revs by changing up a gear a little earlier are both ways of reducing your car’s CO2 emissions.

The free trip around London is a great promotional idea. Takes a little more work and innovation than putting an ad in the paper, but a great way for people to experience the cars first hand. I do wonder about the availability and expense of servicing the vehicles though … are you going to lose all your fuel savings in services?
