Renault Kangoo Van to be produced in France
Written by Tom Benjamin.
Renault has announced it will manufacture its future electric, zero-emission Kangoo Van at Maubeuge Construction Automobile (CA), in northern France, starting in the first half of 2011.
To be built on the same production line as the versions with internal combustion-engines, the new model will benefit from the same expertise and supply chain as the current Kangoo.
A specialist light commercial vehicle (LCV) plant for twenty years, Maubeuge currently produces Kangoo, Kangoo Van and Kangoo be bop (a three-door car version available on the continent).
The choice of this factory will also allow the group to ramp-up industrial production quickly, while guaranteeing high build-quality levels.
Kangoo be bop ZE and Kangoo ZE Concept were the precursors of the future electric Kangoo Van, which will be designed for professionals, primarily for urban and suburban use.
The older Kangoo Van can be self-built, with front fog car lights costing £110 and glazed tailgate and rear wiper costing £150.

I hope the same would be sold here in my country. We are looking for a car that is run by an alternative power since gasoline’s prices here are soaring high and many can’t keep up.Looking forward for Kangoo Van in 2011!
