Infiniti FX receives five stars in Euro NCAP safety test

Written by Richard Sinclair.

The Infiniti FX has been awarded five stars in Euro NCAP’s new, more rigorous safety testing programme.

Infiniti’s FX is the first luxury sports utility vehicle to be assessed under the improved test, which includes a new safety assist element to determine star ratings.

Euro NCAP awarded the vehicle extra marks for its standard stability control system, seat-belt reminders for all seats and its driver-set speed limiter. All of these features helped the vehicle to receive 99 per cent in the test.

As standard, the Infinity FX includes adaptive front lighting system with Xenon car headlights.

The car bulbs in the system light up the road through corners by turning up to 17 degrees with the steering wheel to help the driver to see around bends at night.

There are Infiniti centres in major cities across the UK, including Glasgow, Newcastle and Birmingham.

Earlier this month Infiniti celebrated its 20th anniversary. The company first opened for business on November 8th, 1989 with just 51 retailers and two models.
