Brits want Queen to come to their rescue

Stranded drivers, whether their car headlights have stopped working or their engine has broken down, would rather have some royal assistance in getting back on the move than aid from a political leader, according to research.

The poll by the Automotive Technician Accreditation (ATA) scheme reveals that motorists would prefer the Queen to stop to lend a hand than Gordon Brown or David Cameron.

One in ten say Simon Cowell would be their preferred knight in shining armour in the event of a breakdown, although it was not revealed whether they would sing him a tune as he worked on their vehicle.

"People may know that during the Second World War, the Queen trained to become a fully qualified mechanic," commented ATA spokesman Nigel Beaven.

The poll also revealed that drivers are unsure of how to find a competent and qualified mechanic to work on their car.

Finding replacement lightbulbs and windscreen wipers is less of a challenge, with Autobulbs Direct Limited offering a range of replacements for all makes and models.ADNFCR-2370-ID-19482791-ADNFCR

I should say that I would prefer our Royal Highness too.
