Don’t delay, repair today, motorists told
Motorists are being urged not to delay routine vehicle repairs, servicing and maintenance as they look to cut back their spending during the difficult economic times.
Whether they need new wiper blades or an oil change, drivers should have their cars kept in tip-top condition at all times.
Figures from Glass’s Guide reveal that nearly half (46 per cent) of motorists have deferred some of their car-related expenditure in the past year.
Repairs drivers had put back include routine servicing, buying replacement tyres and repairing bodywork.
"While it is inevitable that some consumers will respond to deteriorating economic conditions by cutting back on aspects of their motoring expenditure, it is concerning that scheduled services and tyre purchases are being deferred," said Andy Carroll, managing director at Glass’s.
Keeping a car in good order does not have to be expensive – Autobulbs Direct Limited has windscreen wipers and car bulbs to suit all budgets and tastes.
