Don’t be in the dark this winter – check your car bulbs
Written by Richard Sinclair
Before heading out onto the roads this winter, drivers should ensure that their car lights work, TOTAL says.
All lights, including indicators, brakes and fog lights, should be checked and cleaned regularly the garage chain advises.
If any car bulbs are not working, drivers can replace them at Autobulbs Direct Limited.
As well as working lights, windscreens should be kept clear, with new wiper blades installed when necessary.
Tyres must be at the correct pressure and have enough tread to give grip on icy roads and fluid levels should be checked and topped up as needed to help avoid breakdowns, TOTAL continues.
It also suggests keeping bodywork in top condition, pointing out that rain, snow, sleet, ice and grit can damage paintwork and cause corrosion.
When driving during the winter months, motorists should bear in mind that road conditions can be dangerous, with stopping distances increased and visibility reduced.

In addition, be sure that emergency supplies are on hand in the trunk; have the heater and defroster tested to be certain they are in good working order.
