Electric vehicle charging system on sale in Japan

An electric vehicle charging system for apartment buildings in Japan has gone on sale today.
Japan Delivery System Corporation (JDS) and Mitsubishi Motors Corporation jointly developed the i-CHARGER which powers everything in an electric vehicle, from its engine to its car bulbs and windscreen wiper blades.
The i-CHARGER’s ‘delivery box’ can manage how much electricity is used and can regulate who uses it and when it is used, allowing apartment complex supervisors to charge the correct tenant with the electricity fees.
Tenants can use a PIN code or verification card to access the electricity to charge their vehicles.
Last month Mitsubishi Motors delivered four of the new-generation electric vehicle i-MiEV to the Principality of Monaco.
It was launched in Japan in July 2009 and the company is hoping to move towards global distribution in 2010. It is currently involved in global testing and promotional activities in New Zealand, America and Europe.

I have come to see that these vehicles are getting more and more recognised all over the UK. I think that some of the people who are interested in buying a electric car think that they are helping the environment. I have heard that a diesel car only produces half of the co2 emission that a electric car would if the amount of fossil fuels were taken into account what are used to power electricity.
That sounds like it will solve the problem of where to recharge your electric car which has been one of the biggest drawbacks.
Thanks for that!!
What a great idea!!
It is definitely getting easier to have an electric car and seems likely that sales of these cars will increase. Let hope the prices start to come down too, so they will be more affordable.
At least we are not dependent on the oil producing coutries. We need those electric cars, and I am happy to see that they are being made as we speak.
