Written by Fiona Birkwood.

Alfa Romeo’s Giulietta will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2010.

The new vehicle boasts front car headlights that use LED technology and a daytime running lights function to improve safety.

These lights are automatically switched on when the engine is running to improve the visibility of the vehicle during daylight.

According to the AA, the Volvo 240 was the first car in Britain to have daytime running lights. It is not compulsory for cars in the UK but, by 2006, 12 countries required motorists to drive with their headlights on at all times, including Sweden, Iceland and Norway.

The Alfa Romeo Giulietta also features a dashboard with aluminium accents, a brand new grill design and a large boot with a volume of 350 litres.

Alfa Romeo claims the vehicle has a "next-generation steering system" and "state-of-the-art manufacturing technologies".

The car is 4.35m long, 1.46m high and 1.80m wide with a wheelbase of 2.63m.ADNFCR-2370-ID-19493462-ADNFCR
