The 2010 Mazda5, which has LED bulbs in its rear car lights, has made its premier at the Geneva Motor Show.
Sliding doors are just one of the many new internal and external features of the Mazda5, which is now more energy efficient due to its 2.0-litre DISI petrol engine.
The vehicle is also available with halogen car headlight bulbs, which have an auto-off feature.
A fixed-intermittent rear wiper blade and variable-intermittent windscreen wiper blades also come as standard.
The Mazda5 Grand Touring model also comes with Halogen fog car lights and rain-sensing windscreen wiper blades.
Hideki Matsuoka, Mazda5 programme manager, said: "In approaching development of the all-new Mazda5 our team aimed to create a new C-MAV that combines superb practicality with the superior environmental performance these modern times demand and a new expression in stylish design."
BMW recently announced improvements to two of its cars: the 3 Series Coupe and Convertible.
These vehicles now have new car lights with bright white LED corona rings.
