Nissan has been recognised as Britains largest car producer, responsible for one in three new cars in 2009, including the Qashqai featuring LED rear car bulbs.
More than 200,000 of the Qashqai models were produced at the Nissan Sunderland Plants in 2009, with well over half a million of this car produced there since its launch in 2007.
Trevor Mann, senior vice president of manufacturing in Europe at Nissan, said: "This performance also reflects the strength of the models we are producing in Sunderland at the moment, especially Qashqai which continues to be an extremely popular car.
"2010 is going to be another tough year for car makers, and the industry is predicting a cooling in demand in general terms."
Car bulbs are becoming increasingly advanced on todays vehicles, with the new Fiat Punto Evo launched earlier this month featuring adaptive fog lights that incorporate a lane change warning system.

Its good to have new technology making spotting objects in bad light a possibility. Fog is becoming a chief issue while driing and the LED lights will help getting more vision under poor lighting conditions.
