Clean car lights when re-fuelling, motorists advised
Posted by Tom Benjamin
Motorists should clean their car lights when they re-fuel their vehicles and before they set off on road trips, according to the Times and Transcript.
The newspaper has advised drivers that there are a number of things that they should check regularly to ensure their vehicles are safe on the roads.
"Salt and dirt can stick to your headlights, reducing their effectiveness," Justin Pritchard writes in the newspaper.
He advised that, if motorists need to clean their lights quickly, they should put a rag over one of the windscreen washer nozzles, turn on the spray for a moment, and then use the moistened rag to wipe the car lights.
Motorists are also implored to ensure, before every road trip, that all of their car bulbs are working, including headlights, parking lights, brake lights, trailer lights (if applicable) and indicator lights.
Money-saving website Lovemoney.com recently advised motorists to replace worn windscreen wipers before trying to sell their vehicles as this can boost the selling price.
