Smart ForTwo CDI, with chrome-plated fog lights, more eco-friendly than competitors
The Smart ForTwo CDI, which has chrome-plated fog lights, now emits just 86 g/km of carbon dioxide, making it more environmentally friendly than all its competitors with combustion engines.
It also has a fuel consumption of 85.6 mpg when driven in the Soft IP mode.
The Smart ForTwo CDI diesel model also has low has carbon dioxide emissions of 88 g/km, which is the lowest figure worldwide for cars with a combustion engine.
Improved aerodynamics, such as a seven millimetre reduction in ride height, helped the vehicle to achieve lower fuel consumption.
Dermot Kelly, managing director at Mercedes-Benz Cars, said: "Our customers are proud to drive the vehicle with the lowest consumption worldwide, and we have been working hard to make our smart models even more environmentally friendly."
The vehicle is available with a lamp box that contains spare car bulbs, which are always a good idea to have just in case a car light breaks while on the road.
