Volkswagens all-new Touareg, which is available with a high beam assist car light system, has been unveiled.

The vehicle is up to 200 kg lighter and, as a hybrid, 20 per cent more fuel efficient than the previous Touareg model.

A number of advanced new options can be chosen when purchasing the Toureg, including high beam assist that automatically dips the front car lights when oncoming traffic is sensed.

Inspiration for the design of the new vehicle was drawn from that of the Golf Mk VI, the new Polo and the new Compact Coupe.

It features eight-speed transmission as well as start/stop technology, touch-screen satellite navigation and leather upholstery as standard.

Earlier this month, it was announced that the Volkswagen Transporter, which has halogen car bulbs, had been recognised in an annual motor caravan awards ceremony.

In the Which Motor Caravan Awards 2010, the new Transporter van was a runner-up in the Base Vehicle Category.ADNFCR-2370-ID-19609953-ADNFCR
