Fully functioning car lights are important to reduce the risk of road accidents, but so are good tyres, and Michelin has just launched the new Pilot Sport 3 tyre to replace part of its Pilot Exalto and Pilot Sport 2 ranges.

This new tyre is the only example in the range to combine good on-road performance with environmental benefits.

On wet surfaces, the Michelin Pilot Sport 3 grips the road better when cornering and stops three metres shorter than its predecessor.

Michelin claims that the tyres deliver "enhanced driving sensations" as they enable precise steering.

Due to its dynamics, the tyre also allows greater fuel efficiency and extended mileage.

Last month, Kwik-Fit released its 2010 Tyre Wall of Shame calendar, which included photographs of seriously defective tyres.

One of the pictures shows an instance where one has been worn right down to the steel core.

"Not only would it provide no grip, it could have blown at any time," said David White, customer services director at Kwik-Fit.ADNFCR-2370-ID-19615300-ADNFCR

A tire’s rolling resistance effects on fuel efficiency and mileage. Most vehicle manufacturers always demand their suppliers develop low rolling resistance tires. So, Michelin’s pilot sport 3 is really very appreciable.
