Drivers struggle to work windscreen wiper blades of new cars

Motorists find it difficult to figure out how to operate the windscreen wiper blades of their new cars when they first get behind the wheel, research has suggested.
Accordnig to M&S Car Insurance, working out how to work the wiper blades comes fifth in the list of features that drivers struggle to get to grips with in a car they are driving for the first time.
The fourth biggest struggle was found to be locating the switch to turn on the front car lights, whereas top of the list was finding the handle to open the bonnet.
David Wells, M&S head of insurance, said: "To avoid taking risks and potentially causing an accident, it is important to take time to familiarise yourself with the features of a car thats new to you."
Even those who are familiar with their cars are not looking after them as they should, a recent study by Brake and Direct Line suggested, as it revealed that 42 per cent of motorists drove in the last 12 months with vehicle defects such as broken car bulbs, worn tyres and ineffective windscreen wiper blades.
