Motorists who feel their windscreen wiper blades are not doing their job properly should make sure their car glass is clean, a driving school has suggested.

JSF Driving School said that the cleaner the glass, the more efficient wiper blades can be, so motorists should use inexpensive windscreen cleaner to help remove dirt and grime.

The driving school also said that motorists should pay attention to the condition that their wiper blades are in.

"Checking, maintenance, and when necessary, replacement of windscreen wipers is very important. Wipers do perish and will build up grease/mould deposits over time that can render them useless or less efficient," it stated.

JSF went on to say that wiper blade manufacturers recommend replacing these essential features every six months.

Back in January, Nationwide Autocentre advised motorists that checking their wiper blades are not worn and do not need replacing can prevent their vehicles from failing their MOTs.ADNFCR-2370-ID-19645842-ADNFCR
