Fuel cells powering car bulbs will be key to CO2 reduction

Vehicles with car bulbs powered by fuel cells will play a major role in reducing emissions, it has been claimed.
Fuel cell technology has a major role to play alongside other car industry innovations in Europe, according to the chief executive of Toyota Motor Europe Tadashi Arashima.
He signalled his support for measures introduced by the German government, which is set to invest around €2 billion (£1.8 billion) to support the development of fuel cell cars.
Mr Arashima explained: "Toyota aims at the commercialisation of fuel cell vehicles around 2015.
"To achieve this goal a hydrogen charging infrastructure is necessary, so close tie-ups between car manufacturers and infrastructure companies are of vital importance."
Earlier this month, the Toyota Auris HSD hybrid vehicle was unveiled at the Geneva motor show.
Two versions of the car will be offered in Europe, delivering 89g/km and 93g/km emissions respectively.
