Nissans second generation Murano, which has rain-sensing automatic windscreen wiper blades, will be available with a diesel engine later this year.
The vehicle will go on sale in the UK in September with an enhanced version of Nissans 2.5 dCi four cylinder engine.
This will produce 190PS and 450Nm of torque and includes a new direct injection system which operates at 2,000 bar, up from 1,800 bar.
It is also equipped with a diesel particle filter, helping the vehicle to achieve EURO5 emission standards.
"Murano was, of course, the first crossover in our range and now that this second generation model has a diesel engine option, its appeal will be even wider on the European market," said Simon Thomas, Nissans European senior vice president for sales and marketing.
The vehicle also boasts automatic Bi-Xenon front car lights with washers and front fog car lights.
Nissan recently announced that its forthcoming small crossover, the Nissan Juke, which has elongated car headlights, is to go on sale in October.
