Car bulb supplier Bosch has been named the worlds most admired automotive supplier by Fortune magazine.
The company has leapt to the top spot from third place in last years survey.
More than 4,000 managers from 670 companies were polled for this years survey, which examined innovation, long-term investments and quality.
The company was also ranked in fourth place in the list of most admired companies overall.
Commenting on the accolades, Bosch board of management chairman Franz Fehrenbach said: "This accolade in such economically difficult times is extremely pleasing for us.
"It underscores our companys exceptional strengths and our associates superb level of expertise."
Bosch is responsible for supplying a range of automotive technologies, from car headlights to assisted breaking systems (ABS).
Earlier this year, the firm was presented with a safety award for its antilock motorcycle braking system by ADAC, Europes largest automobile association.
