Avoid cracked car lights by checking tyre pressure

Posted by Tom Benjamin

Driving with tyres that are not inflated to the correct pressure can result in much more serious consequences than cracked car lights, so Renault has teamed with Michelin to make this vital check as easy as possible.

Motorists purchasing two Michelin fuel-efficient tyres from their Renault dealer over the next two months will be given a free digital pressure gauge.

The device, which is worth £15, can be used to ensure that tyres are inflated to the correct pressure that is listed in the cars handbook or maintenance booklet.

Roger Loderick, product manager of service, wear and tear, tyres and oil at Renault UK Limited, said: "Correct inflation pressures are an important factor in increasing the life of a vehicles tyres as well as directly affecting the vehicles safety and, critically, maximising braking effectiveness, particularly in the wet."

Before the May Day bank holiday, Kwik-Fit offered free vehicle checks to AA members.

This included an examination of tyre pressures and a check to see whether car lights functioned correctly.ADNFCR-2370-ID-19763175-ADNFCR
