Mercedes-Benz S-Class wins Best Luxury Car award

Posted by Fiona Birkwood

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class, which features Adaptive Highbeam car lights, has been named the Best Luxury Car at the 2010 Fleet World Honours.

Adrian Freeman, regional corporate sales manager for Mercedes-Benz UK, picked up the award at the ceremony, which took place at the Royal Automobile Club in Pall Mall on May 18th.

The Mercedes-Benz S 350 CDI BlueEfficiency model accounts for over 90 per cent of fleet sales and is expected to make the company the first to offer a vehicle that meets EU 6 standards later this year.

Its Adaptive Highbeam technology makes use of eight stages of graduation from dipped to main beam to ensure both drivers and other road users enjoy maximum safety.

Steve Moody, editor of Fleet World, said the S-Class defines the "very best in corporate motoring and luxury".

He added: "New, more efficient engines have made the line-up even more formidable than ever before."

Earlier this week, rival car giant BMW was named Fleet Manufacturer of the Year at the same event for its Efficient Dynamics programme.ADNFCR-2370-ID-19792296-ADNFCR
