Toyota Auris hybrid to be built in UK

Toyota has reinforced its confidence in the UK motor industry by announcing that the Toyota Auris hybrid will be manufactured in Britain.
The model, which comes with new swept-back headlight bulbs and officially goes on sale on July 1st, will be produced at the Burnaston plant in Derbyshire in June.
Deputy managing director of Toyota Manufacturing UK Tony Walker explained: "Auris Hybrid is very important. It provides a great opportunity for us to increase production and for Toyota to increase sales, and it is a source of great motivation for everyone here."
He added that Toyotas strategy is to "progressively expand" full hybrid technology, with the goal of offering a hybrid version of all its models by 2020.
Recently, Toyota announced that owners of the 3.0-litre D-4D 4×4 Hilux, which has chrome-surrounded rear car lights, can now improve the performance of their vehicle thanks to a new product created by Unichip.
