The car lights of Fords 1970 Escort and 2010 limited-edition Focus RS500 will be seen at this years Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The Ford Escort came first in the 1970 London to Mexico rally, which started in Wembley Stadium, where England won the 1966 World Cup, and finished 16,000 miles later in Mexico City, host to the 1970 World Cup.

Meanwhile, Ford has created just 500 of the high-performance Focus RS500, which features a 350PS upgraded engine and hand-applied matt black foil finish.

Gerard Quinn, Fords motorsport manager, said that customers benefit directly when aspects of motorsport vehicles are used in the engineering of production cars.

"With the Focus WRC now in its final season, it is appropriate that the lessons learnt have helped to create a new icon for the road in the shape of the Focus RS500," he added.

Earlier this month, the Ford Galaxy, which has LED car bulbs, was victorious at the BusinessCar awards, taking away the title of Best MPV.ADNFCR-2370-ID-19838525-ADNFCR
