Replace wiper blades before wet weather driving, motorists advised

Motorists should make sure that their vehicles are prepared for wet weather driving, in case the British summer soon comes to an abrupt end, one commentator has suggested.

Daniel Collins, writing on lonad.com, advised car owners to change their wiper blades if they are old and worn as these are not able to clean the windscreen as effectively as new wipers.

He went on to assert that it is also important to make sure that a vehicles demister is working correctly so that it clears the windows quickly of condensation.

“Youll also want to repair windscreen chips beforehand to make sure your vision is as clear as possible,” Mr Collins added.

“Exercise caution and you should be a safer wet-weather driver,” the writer concluded.

Whether the weather is good or bad, one thing that motorists should make sure they check regularly is the condition of their tyres.

This is according to Protyre, which said correctly inflated tyres that have a good amount of tread not only improve the safety of drivers and their passengers, but reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.ADNFCR-2370-ID-19885635-ADNFCR
